The organization Canadians for Justice and Peace in the Middle East (CJPME) invited the Islamist Tariq Ramadan to give three lectures in November 2015 in Toronto (21), Ottawa (22), and Montreal (23) which will address the Syrian refugee crisis and other issues.

In another press release announcing the Ramadan tour in Eastern Canada, CJPME claims that what it calls “the rise of Islamophobia in Canada” is a consequence of the Western perception of events that can be observed in the Muslim world and that Tariq Ramadan is the right person to put recent these events “in their context.” CJPME Press release / WebArchive – Archive.Today
CJPME does not lack audacity. To counter the “Islamophobia” and the “fanaticism” of those expressing reservations regarding the massive influx of Muslim migrants in Canada, it chose to invite Tariq Ramadan, an Islamist leader heading a Centre for the study of sharia in Qatar, who, has urged his supporters, on several occasions in the past, to undermine Western societies where they have settled to ensure the triumph of sharia and Islamic totalitarianism.
OCTOBER 2004 – In an interview with Egypt Today, Tariq Ramadan incited the Islamists operating in Canada to use the Canadian legal framework which he described as “one of the most open in the world” to subtly and gradually introduce rules of sharia in Canada. At the time, Ramadan strongly urged his supporters not to openly mention their support for sharia:
Tariq Ramadan: “The term shariah in itself is laden with negative connotations in the Western mind. There is no need to stress that. […] [F]or the time being this is not how we want to be perceived.” Egypt Today / Point de Bascule
JULY 27, 2011 – At a fundraiser organized in Dallas by the Islamic Circle of North America, one of many organizations linked to the Muslim Brotherhood infrastructure on the continent, Tariq Ramadan warned his followers “not to be colonized” by a consumerist society, adding that it is they, the Muslims, who must colonize the United States of America:
Tariq Ramadan: “It should be us, with our understanding of Islam, our principles, colonizing positively the United States of America.” Video @ 3:37 / Article PdeB
DECEMBER 27, 2013 – At the Reviving the Islamic Spirit convention in Toronto, Tariq Ramadan stated that Muslims established in Canada must change Canada:
Tariq Ramadan: “I am sorry to see that too many Muslims now, they want a peaceful life, [they want] to be acknowledged, to be accepted but they are not ready for the struggle and the struggle is…We are not here to be accepted. We are here to change the society.” Video excerpt / Article PdeB
Other leaders of the Muslim Brotherhood infrastructure have elaborated on the role they encourage Muslim immigrants to play in the Islamization of the West.
Ismail Faruqi, the founder of the Muslim Brotherhood main research center in North America, stated at a symposium in Edmonton in 1980, that the mission of Muslims who settle in North America is to “to transform the unfortunate realities of North America” in conformity with Islamic standards (ALSO Faruqi’s lecture in Edmonton). This is just another formulation of Tariq Ramadan’s colonization project. Prior to moving to the United States, Faruqi was attached to the Institute of Islamic Studies at McGill University from 1958-1967.
The spiritual guide of the Muslim Brotherhood, Youssef Qaradawi, also encourages the Muslim conquest of the West. In fact, in 1995 he compared the Islamic offensive underway in Europe to those of the past that had been stopped in Spain and in Greece and he expressed confidence that this time, the Islamic offensive will be victorious in Europe:
Youssef Qaradaw: Islam will return to Europe as a conqueror and a victor, after being expelled from it twice, once from the south from Andalusia [Spain / 1492], and a second time from the East, when it knocked several times on the door of Athens in [1830]. […] I maintain that the conquest this time will not be by the sword but by preaching and ideology. MEMRI (Islamonline.net) / Archive.Today
In a book about the priorities of the Islamic movement, the same Qaradawi urges Muslims living in Europe and elsewhere in the West to develop “Muslim ghettos” to consolidate their presence.
According to French police investigators, such a ghetto, the Molenbeek district near Brussels, served as a rear base for the terrorists who carried the November 13 attacks in Paris (and for the authors of other attacks before).

CJPME is listed in the Quebec Registry of Enterprises (NEQ 1169711216) and also in the Industry-Canada directory.
In 2014, the Ottawa Citizen journalist Terry Glavin devoted an article to the tense relations between CJPME leader Thomas Woodley and NDP leader Thomas Mulcair on Middle-East-related issues. Ottawa Citizen / WebArchive – Archive.Today
In his article, Glavin noticed that a fact sheet on Canada and Gaza prepared by CJPME for media and Canadian politicians evoked Hamas without mentioning that this organization has been designated a ‘terrorist entity’ by the Liberal government in 2002. Public Safety Canada / Archive.Today
The CJPME fact sheet also states that “Canadian MPs must acknowledge that it is counter-productive to try to marginalize Hamas.” CJPME’s fact sheet was published in August 2014. This was more than a year after Hamas threatened to launch terrorist acts in countries where Israel’s embassies are located. Canada is among the potential targets, of course. Aside from being engaged in the destruction of Israel (Hamas charter / article 13), Hamas’s leaders have frequently advocated an Islamic conquest of the West (2006/Jan – 2006/Feb – 2008 – 2011 – 2012). In 2011, for example, Hamas leader Mahmoud Al-Zahhar said on TV that Western civilization “will not be able to withstand the great and glorious Islam.”
