“Our main objectives are to build bridges between the communities and our law enforcement, in this case, the RCMP,” said member Shahina Siddiqui. “We want our agencies, to represent the face of Canada, and it is a changing face. We also want to build trust, which is extremely important, especially for many newcomers. We’re seeing a rise in gang recruitment and we need to stop it. That will be one of the places where we will be partnering with the RCMP.”.
