Syed Maududi (1903-1979) is a Muslim scholar and the founder of the Jamaat-e-Islami (JEI), an Islamist organization closely linked with the Muslim Brotherhood and active mainly in Pakistan, India and Bangladesh. Massive immigration from this part of the world to Canada has led some of Maududi’s supporters to establish numerous organizations which promote their mentor’s ideas here. One of these organizations is the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA).
This Sun News report focuses on a call by Maududi to destroy all Western States and Governments that appears in his book Jihad in Islam distributed by ICNA in Canada.

00:02 Brian Dunstan – Last week, Sun News broke the story. A book was being sold in Toronto that, among other things, advises Muslim men on how to beat their wives. It turns out that was only the tip of the iceberg. Our reporter Cindy Pom joins us now with other Muslim books in some stores and what they’re advising Muslims to do. You’re not gonna believe this. Cindy, break it down for us.
00:22 Cindy Pom – These books are advising Muslims to rise up and crush the Western world and replace it with an Islamic state. And to do this, this would be through jihad, through struggle, a holy war against non-Muslims. I have here five different books that Sun Media found at a Toronto bookstore. You can see that they are slim paperbacks. They’re all written by the same author. This is an Islamic scholar who is now deceased by the name of Sayyid Abul Ala Maududi. His works are still spreading as well as his thoughts. You can buy them for about a dollar in some cases. They’re all found at a Toronto bookstore by investigation through Sun Media.
01:07 Cindy Pom – This book, I wanted to focus on, in particular. It’s called Jihad in Islam. I am gonna read an excerpt. This is from page 6 of the book and in it, it says:
Islam wishes to destroy all States and Governments anywhere on the face of the earth which are opposed to the ideology and programme of Islam regardless of the country or the Nation that rules it.
Islam requires the earth – not just a portion – but the whole planet.
These are books, Brian, that were found at the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA) bookstore (100 McLevin Ave, Toronto).

We also have this book which is titled The sick nations of the modern age, talking about the Western world… In this case The unity of the Muslim world. They all carry the same theme which is that the Muslim world needs to be brought down to its knees. It needs to be replaced with an Islamic State.
