Tarek Fatah is a Toronto Sun columnist and the author of The Jew is not my enemy originally from Pakistan. On April 2, 2013, after it was revealed that two Canadians Muslims had been involved in the terrorist attack on a gas plant in Algeria, he joined Jerry Agar on The Source at Sun News to talk about various aspects of the radicalization of young Muslims in Canada.
Mosques radicalizing Muslims in Canada
00:05 JERRY AGAR: According to a report by the CBC, more Canadians are turning up as international terrorists. Two young men from London (Ontario) are implicated in gas plant bombing in North Africa that killed dozens. Omar Khadr, the Toronto 18 and others shock us as the stories come out. How can Canadians turn their back on their nation and civilization generally? […] It just seems like it never stops.
00:34 TAREK FATAH: I’m not surprised. This is not gonna be the last one. In a week or two, most Canadians will forget about this incident and get on with their Blue Jays (Toronto’s baseball team) or whoever they support and the politicians will be attending events, saluting the Pakistan flag or Hamas or Hezbollah for a fistful of votes and, one day, or someday these guys will hit us and that’s the day we’ll wake up.
[…]01:09 JERRY AGAR: Maybe these two guys were just confused people kind of operating on their own. How do you prevent that?
01:14 TAREK FATAH: No, they’re not confused people. Most people who are Muslims and religious need to confront two issues. Can they renounce the doctrine of armed jihad and sharia in public life, openly or in their family or in their hearts? Those who don’t may not all be terrorists but it is from that sub-group that you will crystallize and get a handful who will blow themselves up because they genuinely believe that life begins after death, (that) the first girls they will date are in paradise and I’m not joking. This a genuine belief they have, that life on earth is not worth wasting for and non-Muslims have to be governed by an Islamic caliphate (government). This is what they are thought in their mosque. This is what they’re preached to every Friday. They’re told to pray to Allah for the defeat of the kuffar (non-Muslims) which is you and Jews, Christians…
02:14 JERRY AGAR: But the mosques in the area where these guys might have gone, they said they’re unknown to them.
02:17 TAREK FATAH: Do you want me to believe that? Do you believe that? I mean. Please. (Inaudible) twelve years of this nonsense that every mosque’s imam comes up after every act of terror or arrest and says: “Oh! This is nothing to do with anyone.” Why doesn’t that imam say that on this Friday I’m gonna give a sermon saying that any aspect of armed jihad has to be renounced because it is not applicable in the twenty-first century, it is applicable in the twelfth century.
02:44 JERRY AGAR: That sermon not being given?
02:46 TAREK FATAH: Are you kidding me? Are you? You go every Friday. The imam stands up and prays to Allah for the defeat of Christians and Jews and the victory of Muslims and the establishment of an Islamic empire over this planet.
03:01 JERRY AGAR: In Canada?
03:02 TAREK FATAH: In Canada. In all mosques around, everywhere.
[…]The elites give credibility to Islamists
04:01 TAREK FATAH: These mullahs and Islamists have found validation from Canadian politicians, from the academia, from the media. You have the Toronto Star front page story on Sunday on how to convert to Islam without mentioning the fact that if you converted from Islam to Judaism, you have to die.
[…]05:02 TAREK FATAH: What we have done is placate the jihadis, giving them tax breaks, giving them charitable institutions status where, at our expense, on our count, they are spreading hatred by saying: “No, we don’t.” Because, on the other hand, they start doing interfaith meetings with the rabbis and the priests, being so good… They serve samosas…
5:24 JERRY AGAR: Are you saying that rabbis and priests, ministers are being used as ‘useful idiots’ by some of these imams?
5:30 TAREK FATAH: Absolutely. What else? Give me a better word. I think Lenin described them correctly. They are serving the purpose of people who have nothing but contempt for Western civilization.
[…]Police gives warnings before visiting mosques
06:04 TAREK FATAH: Do you know that the Toronto police has a policy now that anytime they go to a mosque, they give a 24-hour notice. That is to do outreach, which means: the agreement is: “We’re coming, you better change your sermon to something that is palatable to us so we can all sit after the prayer and have a good time or play a soccer game with the RCMP and the mullahs on the other side.”
[…]Pakistan as a base for radicalizing young Canadian
06:37 TAREK FATAH: There is another message I wish to give. Anyone who visit Pakistan, whether he’s black, white, Christian, Jew. If he is between 15 and 40 and a single male, he needs to be debriefed when he lands back in Canada. Nobody goes to Pakistan on a hippie trail, there are no tourist sites over there, there’s only fascism and jihadism over there. Anyone who has visited that part of the world, trust me, is a serious threat. If they visit as a family, I can understand. […] Anyone visiting Pakistan privately, as an individual male, is almost certainly involved in some sort of thuggery.
