Ottawa Police hosts Flag event to welcome officers from Egypt
02/04/2013
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Tuesday, April 2, 2013 2:25pm
(Ottawa) — As part of the Ottawa Police Service Flag and Banner Recognition Program, members of the community and media are invited to join us at the unveiling of the Egyptian flag at the police station located at 474 Elgin Street, on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at 9:30 a.m.
This event is being organized, in partnership with The International Organization for Migration (IOM), to welcome a delegation of police officers from the Egyptian Ministry of Interior who are conducting an exposure visit to Ottawa. The purpose of the visit is to expose the Egyptian delegation to leading Canadian models in community policing and in sharing experiences and lessons learned.
It is an honour and compliment to work with IOM, the Embassies of Egypt and the Netherlands, and the RCMP on this initiative. All residents and visitors are welcome to join the celebrations. Light refreshments will follow the unveiling.
The Egyptian flag will be on display at 474 Elgin until April 10, 2013, when the delegation returns to Egypt.
